Diccionario de psicoanálisis

Laplanche, Jean
Pontalis, Jean-Bertrand

This work analyzes the conceptual apparatus of psychoanalysis, that is, the set of concepts that it has developed to explain its specific discoveries. Each term is subject to a definition and a comment. The first includes its acceptance, derived from its rigorous use in psychoanalytic theory. The second represents the critical part of this work and its essence, since the method applied to it covers three aspects: history, structure and problems. To overcome the arbitrariness that a simply alphabetical classification could lead to, there is a complete structure of references and referrals between articles that allows the reader to establish significant relationships between concepts and orient themselves in the networks of associations of psychoanalytic language. Likewise, at the beginning of each article the equivalents of the term in German, French, English, Italian and Portuguese are indicated. It is, therefore, a very useful work tool, essential for sharing the development of psychoanalysis and for disseminating its terminology in common language. One of the most original contemporary contributions to psychoanalytic thought.
