Third installment of Rafael Chirbes' diaries, which bring together the entries from various notebooks written between 2007 and 2015. We are, therefore, in the crucial period in which he publishes the two novels that represent the culmination of his literary career -Crematorio and En la oro- and in his last years of life, marked by illness. In these pages appear the doubts and crises in the writing of these fundamental works, the conversations with its Barcelona editor, the impact of the publication and some disagreements with the press, the tolls of literary life and some very acidic comments about several writers contemporaries. Also very present, as in the previous installments, is the voracious reader, passionate both in his enthusiasms and in his rejections, that he reads the classics and his contemporaries. And the happy viewer of mostly classic films, as well as the citizen who reflects -sometimes with great indignation- on the Spanish political situation.
