Del natural
Sebald, W. G.
In this prose poem, WG Sebald made his love for Nature, but also his fear of her, his decisive theme: From Nature, a masterpiece of language about the life of three characters who felt painfully, each in his own way. Way, the conflict between Man and Nature, is an unusual book by a writer who only wrote unusual books. Subtitled "rudimentary poem", incarnation of a genre that is not free poetry or poetic prose but simply literature, Sebald never saw it edited, but he had the proofs in his mail when the accident that ended his death in 2001 occurred. lifetime. The amazing thing is that this book, probably the first that Sebald wrote, shows an incredibly mature author, already in command of all his resources (Kafka, Robert Walser or Bernhard are only a distant presence) and a bewildering scholarship. Del natural deserves more than one reading to discover the complex interplay of relationships between the three characters that he portrays. Sebald never makes concessions, but a seasoned reader will perhaps recognize a nod to Wordsworth here or an allusion to Alois Irlmaier's prophecies there. However, it is not necessary to have a culture as immense as that of the author himself to let himself be carried away and captivated. Reading this book it is well understood why it is always said that W. G. Sebald causes addiction.
