Comedias completas
Terencio Africano, Publio
Born somewhere in Africa, perhaps Carthage, Publius Terence Afro (c. 185-159 BC) is one of the great names in Roman theater. Inspired by the Greek New Comedy, especially by Menander, of whom almost the entire production has been lost, Terence wrote comedies as outstanding as Plautus. His relatively short life cut short his sparkling career; even so, six of his works are preserved: Adelphoe (The brothers), Andria (The andriana), Eunuchus (The eunuch), Phormio (Phormio), Heautontimorumenos (The tormented one), Hecyra (The mother-in-law). They are elegant comedies of manners, with a refined humor, that focus on love affairs and feature lively characters.
