Casi un objeto
Saramago, José
One by one, José Saramago's stories irrevocably ignite the reader's sensitivity and memory. In "Chair", a woodworm meticulously gnaws at Salazar's seat until the dictatorship falls. "Embargo" tells us about the occupation of a man by his car, while the gasoline runs out and death looms over both of them. In "Reflow", a huge and unique cemetery is absorbing all the others until the death of the monarch. In "Things", Saramago imagines a city subjected to an absolute dictatorship, where dissidence takes the form of the rebellion of objects. One last fantastic being, half man and half horse, has been hiding for centuries in the shadows of "Centauro". And "Revenge" is a very brief parable in which a boy contemplates the castration of a pig and jumps into a river to swim across it, while a frog watches him, knowing that a naked girl is waiting for him on the opposite shore.
