Brighton Rock

Greene, Graham

The city of Brighton in 1930s England was a lively summer resort, but also a hotbed of criminal activity. The young Pinkie Brown, only seventeen years old, leads a gang of thugs. After becoming involved in the murder of Fred Hale, a journalist linked to a rival gang, Pinkie fears his alibi will be blown and will do whatever it takes to stop it. He does not imagine that the obstinate Ida Arnold, friend of the victim, will start an investigation on her behalf to clarify the facts.
