Armónicos del cinismo

Armónicos del cinismo

discurso, mito y poder en la era neoliberal

Conde, Juan Luis

If the coronavirus pandemic has made one thing clear, it is the serious precariousness of health and social protection in Spain and in the world, the result of the cuts and privatizations imposed by neoliberal policies. Like the boy to the emperor in Andersen's story, Juan Luis Conde uncovers the fallacies and inconsistencies of the discourse that has justified these policies for decades, he raises his cassock to the myths with which new forms of exploitation are covered up or unmasks those who usurp nice words like "freedom". To do this, it enlightens with culture, handled with irony and rigor, and invites the reader to accompany him in that light to the Roman Empire or ancient China. He calls it "combat philology".
