Anoche cuando dormía
Machado, Antonio
Antonio Machado was the youngest member of the generation of 98, a group of intellectuals very identified with the Castilian lands. The publication of Soledades in 1903 revealed him as an extraordinary poet and the success of his masterpiece, Campos de Castilla, placed him as one of the most relevant poets in the country. This selection contains some of his most emblematic verses, influenced by popular lyrics and a combination of extreme sobriety and formal simplicity with the most sincere and human emotion. In this anthology, his poems dedicated to a landscape that borders on dreams and love stand out.
