Animales luminosos
Gamboa, Jeremías
A student arrives at a university in Colorado, in the United States, in search of the American dream in its academic version. The promise of the campus as a sanctuary in whose borders the problems of the West have been resolved -origin, race, class- succumbs to the nocturnal reality: the students roam the outskirts of the city, hunting for everything that the day brings them. denies: light, company, tenderness, certainties. The protagonist's gaze explores the stories that intertwine during an endless night: the obsession with South America as a romantic, sexual and political destination; parallel and toxic loves; the need to erase the signs of identity to create new ones; literature as shelter; the future in the form of a darkness barely illuminated by some distant and alien stars.
