Ana contra la muerte

Gabriel Calderón's work is marked by humor and fantasy; however, in Ana against death, he renounces the usual ironic tone to focus on family and death. In this play, Ana wants to help her son who is suffering from cancer, but since she cannot afford the treatments she requires, she will do the unthinkable to save him from death. The author presents us with a tragic story full of love where the meaning of life and death, the arbitrariness of justice, the consequences of social differences and the limits of maternal love are questioned.
