In Her Majesty's Service deals with the monarchy's connections to the secret service, a novel perspective from both points of view. It has allowed me to discover a hidden facet of the main characters, the kings Juan Carlos I and Felipe VI, but also of the heads of espionage and of many agents without whom their reigns could not be understood. It was the loneliness of the first in Franco's Spain that pushed him to realize the need to control the Armed Forces and, also, to seek the protective shield of the intelligence services, those who intensely spy on his father, Don Juan, and also him. That is why, once at the head of state, he always fought to ensure that the director of espionage was a man of the utmost confidence in him. No matter what event the king went through, they were there to get him out of his quagmire: conspiracies to take away his throne, dirty operations against politicians, phones tapped by the CIA, spying on and driving away corrupt powerful friends, dealing with the maneuvers against him by some lovers, protect members of his family, investigate the lives of possible future queens...
