Tristante, Jerónimo

November 1936. In the midst of the siege of Madrid, Republican Lieutenant Juan Antonio Tornell, attached to the Rearguard Surveillance Militias, is commissioned to investigate the disappearance of a British photographer: Kenneth Lee. The city is chaos. The national troops are one step away from Madrid and the final offensive could be unleashed at any moment. It is the worst time to try to deliver justice and the best opportunity for unscrupulous murderers. Tornell knows this, but he doesn't know the complicated ramifications of the case he has in hand. The Government of the Republic wants to locate Kenneth Lee to avoid a conflict with the English, whose support he wants to obtain. But it is also sought after by other government agencies and even enemy agents. Why is that British photographer so important?
