1939, la caiguda de Barcelona

Claret, Andreu

The Francoist army is about to cross the Llobregat and thousands of refugees are leaving for France. Among them Lluís Companys, who flees, criticized by many and abandoned by his family. He is accompanied by Manel Plandiure, a boxer who escorts him and is forced to leave Agnieszka, his mistress, a Polish prostitute, in Barcelona. When the Germans arrest Companys and hand him over to Franco, Manel returns to Catalonia with the intention of freeing him. He will not succeed, but he will avenge his death.
