This book is a landmark collection that, for the first time, studies the major interventions of Mexican literature of all genres in world literary circuits from the 16th century forward. This collection features a range of essays in dialogue with major theorists and critics of the concept of world literature. Authors show how the arrival of Spanish conquerors and priests, the work of enlightenment naturalists, the rise of Mexican academies, the culture of the Mexican Revolution, and Mexican neoliberalism have played major roles in the formation of world literary structures.
Este libro es una colección de referencia que, por primera vez, estudia las principales intervenciones de la literatura mexicana de todos los géneros en los circuitos literarios mundiales desde el siglo XVI en adelante. Esta colección presenta una serie de ensayos en diálogo con los principales teóricos y críticos del concepto de literatura mundial. Los autores muestran cómo la llegada de los conquistadores y sacerdotes españoles, la obra de los naturalistas ilustrados, el surgimiento de las academias mexicanas, la cultura de la Revolución Mexicana y el neoliberalismo mexicano han desempeñado papeles importantes en la formación de las estructuras literarias mundiales.
