| El presente trabajo pretende examinar el mantenimiento de jardines, en particular los palmerales en la provincia de Girsu durante la tercera dinastía de Ur, también conocida como el periodo Neo-sumerio, un periodo que se extendió por el último siglo del tercer milenio d.C. Como es bien conocido, la agricultura fue la piedra angular de la economía de la Baja Mesopotamia en el tercer milenio d.C., asumiendo formas variadas de acuerdo a los diferentes paisajes, y la cultura de los jardines fue tan solo una parte de ese marco más amplio. The present work aims at examining the management of gardens, in particular palm groves, in the Girsu province during the third dynasty of Ur, also known as the Neo-Sumerian period, a period spanning the last century of the third millennium BC. As is well known, agriculture was the economic fulcrum of Lower Mesopotamia in third millennium BC, assuming various forms according to the different landscapes of the alluvium, and garden culture was just a part of this broader framework. |
