Patruno, Luigi
candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. I graduated from University of Salento with a B.A. in Spanish Philology and hold a M.A. in Latin American Literature from University of Buenos Aires. Among others, I have published academic articles on Pedro Calderón de la Barca, Gabriel García Márquez, Pablo Neruda, Alberto Blest Gana, Julio Cortázar, Leon Ferrari, Edgardo Rodríguez Juliá, Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Leopoldo Lugones. In 2011 I was invited by University of São Paulo and offered a lecture on the emergence of the cannibalism in Early Modern literature about the Conquest. More recently, I gave a talk on the cultural myth of Eva Perón at the Sapienza University of Rome. My first book entitled Relatos de regreso. Ensayos sobre la obra de Juan José Saer is forthcoming on Beatriz Viterbo Editoral. My doctoral research explores the cultural production during the rise of Peronism in Argentina.
